First Annual Spring Theater and Sewing Camp!

We are proud to announce that the Boys & Girls Club First Annual Spring Theater & Sewing Camp was a huge success! Over the course of the week, members of the Boys & Girls Club and residents in the Bangor Housing community, came together to discover different components of theater, highlighting self-expression and creativity. Participants also learned how to create elements of sets, had fun with improv, and acted in two & four person skits. Retired teacher, Frank Booker, and Founder of Shoestring Theatre, Brian Slaven volunteered their time to co-lead the Theater Camp. Open the Door to Success: A recap of National Boys & Girls Club Week!

National Boys & Girls Club Week was a HUGE Success! Last week, hundreds of Boys & Girls Clubs celebrated National Boys & Girls Club Week by showing what happens inside our blue doors! Across the country and on U.S. military installations worldwide, the celebration shined a spotlight on how Clubs advocate for academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Members of our Club participated in creative art projects and group discussions about what the Boys & Girls Club of Bangor means to them and what their visions are for their futures. April Break Activities

We have plenty to do this April vacation! Option #1) Theater Camp! April 18th-21st 10am-2:30pm open for all youth in 4th-8th grade. No experience necessary. The program is FREE and we will provide transportation. You just have to bring a lunch! Practice improv, 4 person skits, yell skits, drama songs, and a field trip to the Umaine Museum of Art in Bangor. Option #2) Bags For Kids! April 18th-21st 9am-11am open for all middle school/high school youth. No experience necessary. The program is FREE. Members will be making bags for children in foster care. Right now, some children in foster care have to travel with their belongings in trash bags and we want to help change that! We will be using
