UpNext Work-Based Learning
Up Next is BGCA's comprehensive, in-Club work-based learning program, giving teens hands-on work experience while developing essential employability skills. This program helps participants gain a competitive edge, positioning them at the front of the line—or “Up Next”—for sought-after job opportunities.
Work-Based Learning Timeline:
1. APPLY
Apply to become a Work-Based Learner by contacting us here or emailing Peyton at pfaulkner@bgcbangor.org
2. TRAINING
After you've ben hired, you will be required to attend 10 hours worth of training.
3. IN-CLUB EXPERIENCE
After completing the trainings, you will be paid to work in the classroom, alongside seasoned staff, helping supervise, mentor, and engage with the children attending After-School Club.
4. ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES
Once your work hours are complete, several doors will open! You may apply to continue working at the Club, or take your valuable work experience towards your desired career path!
Interest Form and Registration
Submission of a Work-Based Learning interest form does not guarantee your child's enrollment in the program.
Once submitted, if there is room in the program, a staff member will reach out to you to set up an interview and gather additional information including:

A copy of your child's immunization records

A completed membership form
If there is not room in the program, a staff member will reach out to inform you of your waitlist status.
